I was very happy to discover the excellent-quality, commercial-grade kitchen products that are available at Termalimex in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

They sell products from Robot Coupe, Waring, Hobart, All-American, Tramontia, KitchenAid, Nuova Simonelli, Centerline, Electrolux, Victorinox, Ozti, Carlisle, Browne, etc.

I’m not a big fan of buying cheap plastic kitchen things that you know will break 1-10 years. In Ecuador it’s almost impossible to find durable plastic food storage containers. I was elated to find that Termalimex has normal commercial-quality, graduated round plastic food storage containers made by Carlisle (for ~$10-$40 each).

Summary of what I found:

  • Food Storage Containers ($10-$40 each)
  • Tramonita and Victorinox Knives ($10-$80)
  • Magnetic Knife Holders ($15-$30)
  • Various KitchenAid Mixers (up to $1,000)
  • Centerline Stand Mixer ($4,091)
  • Waring Blender ($2,614)
  • Robot Coupe Immersion Blenders
  • Robot Coupe Chopper ($2,000-$4,000)
  • Waring Belgin Wafflemaker ($661)
  • Electrolux Refrigerator ($1,076)
  • Ozti Single Basket Door-type High-temp Dishwasher ($4,421)
  • Nuova Simonelli Espresso Machines ($4,000-$6,000)
  • Pre-rinse faucet hose sprayers ($400-$600)
  • All-American Pressure Canners ($500-$800)
  • A 2.5 gallon salad spinner ($125)
  • Wide selection of large cutting boards
  • Alegacy and Tramontia Stainless-Steel Pots
  • Large cutting boards
  • Various parts to repair above-listed equipment

Unfortunately, I didn’t find a wok. But they did have a good selection of large, heavy stainless-steel pots made by Alegacy and Tramonita.

The customer attention was OK. I asked if they had any low-temp single-basket door-type dishwashers. They didn’t, but the employee took my contact details and said he’d get in-touch with how they could import one. But I never heard back…
